Macdonald Design LtdOur client, Anwick Homes, purchased the site with outline planning consent in late March 2012. The proposal involved the demolition of an existing bungalow and erection of two 3-bedroomed houses on the same footprint in Church Lane, Chessington. Macdonald Design Ltd were appointed to be the architects by Anwick Homes upon completion of the sale of the land. The planning consent they inherited was conditional and involved the removal of several items that would need to be addressed pre-construction. Macdonald Design were charged with working with energy consultants, landscaping consultants, drainage consultants amongst others in order to satisfy Code 4, Lifetime Homes and Secured by Design building requirements.

Hickory Construction started on site in May 2012 and the project is due for completion by the end of October 2012. The visuals above are our illustration of how the houses will look upon completion.

Macdonald Design will continue to work throughout the construction period. This will be to manage the financial aspect of the entire project. This will involve providing monthly valuations and appraisals to the bank, dependent on the work completed, in order to release funds to the contractor.
